"Mom, what's for dinner?"  Does the question make you cringe?  Have your little chefs give the menu a little zip with a simple writing & design exercise.

Share what is for dinner and ask your child to make the dinner into a four star restaurant worthy menu.

Grab a variety of art supplies you have around the house and let your child(ren) get creative.  In fact, do not even show them what a menu should/could look like.  Let them use their imaginations to create the perfect menu for the evening meal.

Encourage the use of adjectives when describing the food.

Have your child(ren) develop a rating system to mark by each part of the menu.

This is as much about learning as it is encouraging creativity.  And in the process, every one might think dinner is definitely worthy of four stars!
