Here's an idea to make chores a rewarding learning experience.  Create a large map of the United States (make this an extra learning experience by taping paper bags together and having your child free-hand the United States by looking at a map) and let your child attach a picture of himself to an East Coast location.  As well as a reward for finishing, offer varying amounts of "miles" for each chore completed.  At the end of a given period of time, help your child learn how to calculate total miles "worked" to see how far they have traveled.  For instance, did he earn 200 miles for the week and is now smiling in the location of Wilmington, North Carolina, and headed due west on U.S. 76 to Columbia, South Carolina?  Be ready with a fun party (or perhaps luau) when he makes it to Hawaii!
