Do you brush teeth before cereal or after?  Do we have lunch before or after the library?  Create a sequencing game to help your little learner discover "before, after, first, second, third," etc.  Place a series of pictures or words on index cards and discuss what comes first in his/her day.  Place that card "first" in your line-up and let the other cards find their proper places.  If you have old magnets, you can tape/glue the magnet to the card and it becomes something for your child to do with you in the kitchen.  Explore how you can apply this same sequencing activity to other parts of your family's life/day such as "whose birthday comes first in the year" or "who is the youngest/oldest."  Just make sure fun always leads in this activity!
