SEPTEMBER 2ND – NEWSPAPER CARRIER DAY

If the morning edition is on the doorstep this morning, remember the first "paperboy" hired on this day in 1833.  Ten-year-old Barney Flaherty answered an ad in The New York Sun, and the rest is back-pages history.

Tip: Review the different sections of a newspaper with your child & prepare them to create a family newspaper.  Discuss how stories should answer the questions who, what, when, why, where and how.  Even include the classifieds which can list what is on various family member's wish lists or even what they "want" for dinner.  Be sure to get the inside scoop from everyone in the family.
