MARCH 2ND – READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY

This national reading campaign marks the 1904 birthday of Theodore Geisel, known to millions as beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.

Tip:  Initiate the Family Challenge!  Can your family keep the television off all day?  Who can go the longest without watching TV?  Who can read for the most minutes in a week or a month (give bonus minutes to older children who take time to read to younger children)?  Or try a family book club -- find a book that everyone can enjoy reading alone or together and discuss after finishing.  Aside from bonding, reading/reading together helps children with their language development, especially pronunciation skills and vocabulary building.
