DECEMBER 30TH - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, COLOR TELEVISION

On this day in 1953, the first color television hit retail shelves.  It featured a 15-inch screen and cost $1,175 (or about $6,500 in 2007 dollars).  Ouch, right?  Not exactly priced to move.  In fact, fewer than 5,000 units were sold in the United States over the first year.

Tip: Take that much needed break during the holidays and cozy up on the couch as a family and watch a favorite movie.  OR if you have a large box leftover from holiday gift giving, help your children construct their OWN television and have a night of Family Television where every person in the family is in the show.
