APRIL 22ND – EARTH DAY

In 1970, the Environmental Teach-In decided to call their annual event Earth Day.  The grassroots program took on a life of its own and seemingly organized itself.  From January of that year to the April 22 of Earth Day 1970, more than two thousand universities and roughly ten thousand primary schools had decided to participate.

Tip:  If Mother Nature agrees, have an Earth Day party at "her" house.  Make handmade invitations to deliver to neighbors, family and/or friends.  Challenge everyone to bring a brown bag meal that has at least one item from nature (make sure every one does a show and tell of their nature food!).  You supply the clear blue water for drinking.  Have party goers share or point to their favorite thing in nature (and why!).  Most importantly, don't forget to leave Mother Nature's house just as you found it -- clean & beautiful!
