MEAD FIVE STAR "VOCABULARIOUS" DAILY CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. YOU MUST BE A LEGAL RESIDENT OF THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES (INCLUDING WASHINGTON, D.C.) WHO IS THIRTEEN (13) YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, WITH INTERNET ACCESS AND A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS AS OF 6/24/09. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

1. ELIGIBILITY: The Mead Five Star "Vocabularious" Daily Contest ("Contest") is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (including Washington, D.C.) who are thirteen (13) years of age or older and have Internet access and a valid email address as of 6/24/09 (each a "Participant"). Void where prohibited. All employees of MeadWestvaco Corporation ("Sponsor"), and its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members and those living in the same household of any of the foregoing are ineligible. This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. By entering this skill contest, Participants (and the parents or legal guardians of Participants) accept and agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decision of the judges, which will be final, binding and conclusive on all matters related to this contest. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a Participant, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed to be the Participant. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address.

2. TIMING: The Contest begins at 12:00:01 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on 6/24/09 and ends at 11:59:59 a.m. ET on 9/11/09¹ (the "Promotion Period"). Each day during the Promotion Period, a separate daily contest will be held (each a "Daily Contest"). Each Daily Contest begins at 12:00:01 p.m. ET each day during the Promotion Period and ends at 11:59:59 a.m. ET the following day. The administrator's computer is the official timekeeping and scorekeeping device (the "Time Clock") for the Daily Contests. The Time Clock will display the time as Minutes:Seconds:Milliseconds on the Web site.

3. HOW TO PLAY FOR PRIZES: Visit www.meadfivestar.com and click on the "Vocabularious" banner to participate. To register and play for prizes, click on the "Register" link in the upper right hand corner of the home page and enter the information requested to create a log-in and password. Limit: One (1) registration per person, regardless of email address used. All registered eligible Participants will automatically be grouped by age into one of the following three "Age Groups" for purposes of having a level playing field: (1) 13–14 years of age; (2) 15–17 years of age and (3) 18 years of age and older. Participants will only play against participants in their own Age Group. Participants are only permitted to play for prizes once (1) per Daily Contest, regardless of whether a score is submitted, but may play in the practice area of the Web site without logging in or registering. When Participant is ready to play for prizes, they must click on the "Start" button to reveal the Daily Contest word/phrase puzzle and category clue (such as Person, Place, Mead®, Chore, Animal, etc.). The Time Clock will start immediately. The object of the game is to correctly solve the puzzle and type the answer in the "Enter Answer" section of the game play area in the fastest time. The puzzle will consist of a word or phrase with some of the letters visible and some letters blank. Participants who need help in solving the puzzle may click on the blank letter spots to reveal missing letters. For each blank letter that is revealed, a time penalty will be assessed, negatively impacting the participant's overall score as recorded by the Time Clock. Participant may click on each missing letter until they have revealed all except one letter. A time penalty will be assessed for every letter revealed. When the Participant has correctly entered the word or phrase, the total score as recorded and displayed by the Time Clock will be submitted for entry. There is no time penalty for guessing incorrectly; however, if a participant enters incorrect answers three (3) times, the game will end and no score will be submitted for that play. If the Participant's score as displayed on the Time Clock reaches a maximum time of five (5) minutes without the correct word or phrase having been entered, the game will end and no score will be submitted for that play. There will be one (1) Daily Contest prizewinner from each Age Group. The winner (subject to verification) of the Daily Prize in each Age Group will be the Participant who correctly entered the puzzle answer in the fastest time including any time penalties assessed, as recorded by the Time Clock.

4. SCORING: The Time Clock will record the overall time it takes the participant to solve the puzzle, including all time penalties for revealing blank letters. Time penalties are automatically reflected on the Time Clock during game play and will be imposed for each blank letter revealed. Each puzzle will consist of a single word or phrase that ranges in length from 6 to 27 letters. Each day's Daily Contest puzzles will be proportional in length and level of difficulty. Participants can reveal all but one (1) of the blank letters during the game; however, each blank letter that is revealed will result in a time penalty. Each puzzle will have a maximum time penalty of 20 seconds which is divided equally across the total number of blank letters that can be revealed during the game play. By way of example only, if there are 11 blank letters in the puzzle, the participant can reveal up to 10 of the blank letters for a penalty of 2 seconds per letter revealed. The score submitted for entry into the Daily Contest is total time taken to solve the puzzle (including time penalties) as recorded by Sponsor's Time Clock. The player in each Age Group who correctly solves the puzzle in the fastest time as determined by the Time Clock will be the winner. In the event of a tie, the winner will be the participant who had the fewest number of guesses used to solve the puzzle. If a tie still remains, the winner will be the participant who had the greatest amount of time on their Time Clock prior to requesting their first letter reveal. In the event a tie still remains, the participants who are tied will each receive a Five Star® Advance notebook and will be invited to create an original essay (50) words or less explaining "Why it's fun to play Vocabularious." The essay will be judged on creativity and originality. By submitting an original essay, entrants agree that they irrevocably assign and transfer to the Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in their essay, including, without limitation, all copyrights and other intellectual property rights and further agree that Sponsor may use such essays without additional compensation in all media now or hereafter known. The winner of the tiebreaker will receive a Daily Prize.

5. NOTIFICATION: Potential Daily Contest prizewinners will be notified at the email address provided at time of registration approximately ten (10) days after submitting their Daily Contest entry. Participants should make sure any spam filters are set to allow emails using the domain updates@meadmoneymadness.ve10.com to pass through to their inbox. Sponsor will not be responsible for participant's failure to respond because the notification email was filtered as spam. Potential prizewinners and their entry submissions are subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with the terms of these Official Rules. Each Daily Contest prizewinner (or Parent/Legal Guardian if prizewinner is a minor) may be required to execute a Prize Acceptance Form. The Daily Prize will be awarded to the Parent/Legal Guardian in the event the prizewinner is a minor. If a Daily Contest prizewinner does not complete or return the required documentation in ten (10) days from the date of the email notification or if a prize notification is returned undeliverable, the Daily Prize may be forfeited and subsequently awarded to the Participant with the next fastest time in that specific Age Group from among the entries in that Daily Contest. Prizes will be delivered within 4–6 weeks after winner verification.

6. PRIZES: One Participant from each Age Group with the fastest time in each Daily Contest will receive the prize as indicated below (the "Daily Prize"), subject to verification. All prizes are awarded "As Is" with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. Prizes are not transferable. No substitutions are permitted, except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. Sponsor will report value of prizes as required by law. All taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. Limit one (1) prize per person, per Daily Contest.

Digital Camera (15): Fifteen (15) winners will each receive a digital camera to be awarded on the following dates: 6/29; 7/27; 8/4; 8/23; 9/4. Specific brand, make and model of digital camera to be selected by the Sponsor. ARV of each Digital Camera: $140.

Flip Ultra™ Video Camcorder (15): Fifteen (15) winners will each receive a Flip Ultra Video camcorder to be awarded on the following dates: 7/13; 7/21; 8/8; 8/19; 8/25. Specific brand, make and model of Flip Ultra to be selected by the Sponsor. ARV of each Flip Ultra: $100.

7. RELEASE OF LIABILITY & PUBLICITY: Participants release Sponsor and its parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, vendors, advertising and promotion agencies, and all others associated with the development and execution of the Contest, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, and agency employees of the foregoing (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising from participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of any prize, including liability for personal injury, damages and loss, and Sponsor's and its designees use of any entry. Entry constitutes permission to use any winner's name, likeness and entry for advertising, publicity and other purposes, in any and all media now or hereafter known, without further notice or compensation, except where prohibited by law.

8. ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS: Sponsor is not responsible for (i) electronic transmissions that are incomplete, garbled, inaccurate or not received by Sponsor for any reason; (ii) any problems or technical malfunctions, errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, delays in operation or transmission, communication failures, or human error that may occur in the transmission, receipt or processing of entries; (iii) destruction of or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries; (iv) failed or unavailable hardware, network, software or telephone transmissions, damage to participant's or any person's computer or its contents, or any other causes that jeopardize the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion; or (v) misrepresentation, cheating or fraud by any Participant. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Contest if fraud, technical failures, unauthorized intervention or any other factor beyond Sponsor's reasonable control impairs the integrity of the Contest, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. In such event, Sponsor reserves the right to determine potential winners from among the eligible, non-suspect entries received up to the time of the impairment. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the registration process, entry submission process or the operation of the Contest or Web site, acting in violation of these Official Rules, acting in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or intending to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any attempts by an individual to access the site via a robotic, automatic, script or other brute-force attack may result in that individual's email address, registration account, scores and submissions becoming ineligible and void. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
