Five Star Music Insider Questions

What is Five Star® Music Insider?
This year, Five Star® is hooking you up with some of the hottest up-and-coming bands and music artists out there. Listen to sample tracks, read their bios and pick your favorite out of the 10 bands we have listed on the site. When you register and vote, you’ll be entered for the chance to win $25,000. The band with the most votes at the end of the promotional period will also win $25,000.

As a bonus, when you buy select Five Star products, you’ll get codes to unlock cool rewards online, like FREE music, Five Star® Rock Bundles, band video blogs and more!

Where do I find these codes and what can I get with them?
Codes are located on the Five Star® Music Insider inserts found inside select Five Star® products. Different products unlock different sets of rewards. Here’s how it works:
Groupie:         (1 Five Star® Notebook)—1 FREE music track from one of our bands on the verge.
Insider:          (1 Five Star® Advance Notebook)—3 FREE music tracks.

VIP:               (1 Five Star® Flex Product)—Five Star® Rock Bundle, includes 3 FREE music tracks, artist exclusives, digital extras & VIP access to the bands.

How do I vote?
Voting is easy! Simply complete the registration form, meet the bands and pick your favorite. Each band has a place to vote on its individual detail page. You can vote once per day, every day. Plus, recruit your friends to help your chosen band climb the charts.

Where did you find all of these great bands?
Five Star scoured through tons of emerging artists to select 10 of the most promising bands. Many have had modest success with everything from touring on the road to TV commercials—but all need your votes to get the star power they need to make their big breaks in the industry.

How can I keep up with these bands during and after the promotion?
In addition to the information we provide about each of the bands here and on FiveStarMusicInsider.com, you can also keep up with your favorites through their Web sites, MySpace, Twitter and Facebook pages, and YouTube channels. Some of them have mailing lists and you can also check out the Five Star Facebook page.

Best of all, if you enter your mobile number during registration, we’ll send you text updates, so you’ll always be in the know about the status of the bands in the competition. Standard text messaging and data rates apply.

How do I enter the sweepstakes?
When you register and vote, you’ll be automatically entered into the sweepstakes to win $25,000. You can come back to vote once a day every day for the chance to win. Each time you vote, you’ll receive an additional entry into the sweepstakes. See the Official Rules for more details.

Can anyone enter the sweepstakes?
You must be a legal resident of the 50 United States (including D.C.) and be 13 years or older to enter. If you live in Maine, you must be 18 or older. You also need to have access to the Internet. You should also look through the full Official Rules for more details.

How will I know if I win the sweepstakes?
If you win, you’ll be notified by mail. So be sure to keep checking! It’s all outlined for you in the Official Rules.

How do I score some of this cool music?
When you buy select Five Star products, you’ll get codes to enter online that unlock cool rewards, including FREE music tracks from the bands! See Question #2 above for more details.

Can I enter my code multiple times?
Each code is valid for a certain number of free downloads (see Question #2 above). If you complete all of your allotted downloads in a single session, you may not enter the same code again. If you don’t, you may enter the code multiple times until all of your allotted downloads are complete, after which point the code will become invalid.

Does FiveStarMusicInsider.com keep track of my downloads for me?
No. We only tally the number of songs you download not the titles, so make sure you keep track and choose carefully!
I have a code from a product I bought at Target.® Can I enter it on FiveStarMusicInsider.com?
No. There is a special place to enter codes from Target purchases. You’ll still get access to downloads from the 10 bands on this site and 16 additional bands with tracks to choose from.

I entered my code and it didn’t work. Now what?
First things first—make sure you haven’t entered it before and completed all of your allotted downloads. Then, make sure you didn’t mix up any of the letters or numbers. Also, check to see if your CAPS LOCK key is on. The codes are case sensitive. If you’re sure it’s a new code and you’ve entered it correctly, fill out the customer service form where you should provide all necessary information, including your code, so we can get it all figured out.

My Five Star® product also has Mead Money Madness® points on it. Can I enter those on the Five Star Music Insider Web site?
No. You can only enter the code found on the insert inside your Five Star product on this site. Mead Money Madness® points can be redeemed at Mead.com.

I became a fan of the Five Star® Facebook page. Now what?

I had an account with the old Mead Money Madness site (prior to July 2008). Do I need to re-register?
No. We have all your information on file. When you log in to the site, please type in your email address and password from the old Mead Money Madness site. At that point, you will be prompted to create a username. Every time you visit the site after your initial visit, please log in using the username and password you just created.

How do I find out about all the products that Mead sells? You can visit the Our Products page to get a glimpse of some of the many products Mead offers. If you want more information about these and many other products, you can go to www.mead.com.

How do I sign up for special offers and updates to hear about the cool stuff that Mead is doing? If you are a Mead Money Madness member, and have opted in to receive emails from us, then you’re all set. I posted something on the message board and it didn’t appear right away. Why not? In order to protect our site users from inappropriate content, we filter and monitor all message boards posts and comments. Your post, if deemed appropriate, will appear on the message board in about 24 hours.

I created a quiz using the Quiz Creator. It didn’t appear on the site right away. Where is it?
The quizzes that you create are meant to only appear on your profile page and you will need to be logged into your account in order to view them. They are not made to be viewed publicly.

What is Mead Money Madness, and how do I join? Mead Money Madness is our way of rewarding our most loyal customers for being fans of Mead. Once you sign up for the program, you can start earning points for eligible Five Star and Mead purchases. You can also earn points for interacting with certain features of this Web site. Do I have to purchase anything in order to join Mead Money Madness? No. You can join Mead Money Madness without making a purchase. You must be at least 13 years of age, and a legal resident of the US or Canada (excluding Quebec) to join.  If you live in Maine, you must be at least 18 years of age to participate.

How many accounts can I register on Mead Money Madness?
One and only one, regardless of email or physical address provided at registration. Additional accounts (and all the points in them, include all Site Activity Points and all UPC points) will be deleted without notice to you. Any pending rewards in those accounts will also be forfeited.  For more information, please see the Terms & Conditions.

I registered for Mead Money Madness. What will you do with all of my personal information?
Your personal information is maintained in a secure database that we use to fulfill certain elements of the Mead Money Madness program. We will not share your information with spammers or other third parties without your permission. For more details please refer to our Privacy Policy.

I live in Canada. Can I still register for Mead Money Madness? Yes! Mead Money Madness is open to all legal residents of the United States and Canada, excluding Quebec, 13 years or older. If you live in Quebec, you will not be able to participate at this time. If you live in Maine and are under 18 years old, you also will not be able to participate at this time.


When does Mead Money Madness begin? When does it end? Mead Money Madness begins June 14,2010 at 12:01 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) and ends on March 31, 2011 at 11:59:59 a.m. ET. All rewards forms must be received by April 14, 2011. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for additional information.

Can I earn Mead Money Madness points on the site, or do I have to always buy products? Yes, you can earn 7,600 points from June 2010 through March 2011 (800 points per full calendar month, 400 points for June 2010) by participating in certain activities on this Web site. These points can be exchanged for reward items and they do not require receipts for redemption. Receipts are only required for the points you add to your UPC bank, from the purchase of Mead products. For more information, please see the Terms & Conditions.

How do I know which site activities are worth points? All the activities that have points associated with them are marked with a little call-out.

Do my points carry over from the previous program?
No. All points from the previous program expire when that program ended on April 9, 2010.

How do I enter a UPC code into my Mead Money Madness account? In order to enter a UPC into your Mead Money Madness account, you must be logged in. Once you are logged in, go to the Rewards & Offers section of the site. Once there, you will see a tab that is labeled “Enter UPCs.” Click on “Enter UPCs,” and follow the directions. Be sure that you save the receipts for every purchased product you enter. You will need to send in the receipts to claim your reward.

I accidentally entered the wrong UPC into my Mead Money Madness Account. You can delete UPCs from your account. Simply access your account info and locate the Points Activity chart. Click the “Delete” button associated with the UPC you would like to remove. When you delete a UPC from your account, the points associated with that product will also be deleted.

I entered my UPC, but the system is telling me that it’s invalid or out of date. First, please check to make sure that you entered all 12 digits of the UPC. If you are having trouble locating all 12 digits of the UPC, you can check here for an example of what a full UPC code looks like.

Second, please check to make sure that you did not invert any of the numbers. 

Please also check to make sure that the purchase date is after April 9, 2010. The system will not accept dates prior to April 9, 2010.

If you did enter all the digits correctly, and the date purchased is within the correct time frame, and you are still receiving an error message, please contact us and provide the following information:  
Your full name and email address
Your username on the account
UPC that is appearing as invalid
What product that UPC corresponds to
How many Mead Money Madness points that product is worth
When and where you purchased the product


What can I do with all the points I’ve got? You can redeem your points for the rewards you want. In order to see how many points you have, and what rewards you are eligible for, please log-in to your account and go to the Rewards Gallery.

Do I have to send in my receipts in order to claim my reward Item? Yes! You must submit your receipts, along with your completed Rewards Redemption form, in order to receive your reward item. For more details, please review the Terms and Conditions.

I selected a reward, but my printer failed to print the redemption form. What do I do now?
Don’t worry! You can submit your reward redemption form to us by providing all the required information on a separate 8 1/2 " x 11" piece of paper. Required information consists of:
  • Full name on the account
  • Mailing address on the account
  • Email address on the account
  • Username for the account
  • Which reward(s) you are requesting
  • The point value of the requested reward(s)
Please note that only submissions that contain complete and legible information will be accepted. Each submission must consist of: (1) a completed redemption form and (2) original receipts (if you're using UPC points) corresponding to the appropriate quantity of Purchase Points being redeemed for the selected item(s).

US residents are required to send redemption request(s) via Certified Mail in a secure and appropriately sized envelope or package with proper postage.

Can I use my points to buy products on the e-commerce site? You can only use your Mead Money Madness points to redeem reward items, including select Mead products, through the Rewards Gallery. However, at this time, you cannot use your points to purchase products on our e-commerce site.

Do my points last forever? No. Your points will only be valid until March 31, 2011. For more details, please review the Terms and Conditions.

I have purchased items through Mead.com, and already have a username and password for the Mead.com store. Do I need to create another username and password here? Yes, you do need to create another username and password to participate in the Mead Money Madness rewards program on this Web site. Your username and password for the store portion of Mead.com will not be recognized by the rewards program database system. Register now for Mead Money Madness.

I am a part of a school organization. Can we join Mead Money Madness as a group and pool our points together? Mead Money Madness is only open to individuals at this time. We welcome all individuals who meet the Terms and Conditions for eligibility to join as individuals, but we do not allow group memberships at this time.

I submitted a Mead Money Madness Rewards Redemption Form a couple of weeks ago and still have not received my item. You should receive your rewards item within 10-12 weeks of the time your Rewards Redemption Form is validated and marked as approved for Fulfillment. For additional information, please see our Terms and Conditions. If it has been more than 12 weeks since you submitted your form, and you suspect that it was lost in the mail, you may contact us to find out if we received it.

Can I transfer my Mead Money Madness points to a friend or family member? At this time, it is not possible to transfer Mead Money Madness points to another registrant.
